Meet Velou’s Head of Sales: Andrew Miller
Why did you choose to work at Velou?
With Velou, I feel strongly that I can leverage many years of experience in developing new business and strategic partnerships with large enterprises and channels. I’ve been lucky in being able to live and work around the world, and can easily envision Velou as an internationally relevant company with global customers and operations.
Velou is one of those rare companies where anyone can easily see the results of its innovative technologies. This is very inspiring for sales and client facing professionals. Just visit one of the thousands of ecommerce retailer brands and run specific searches for the items you’re looking for. Most of the results are not relevant to the search. Then go to brands that have implemented Velou and run a search. Voila! Precise results!
“Velou is one of those rare companies where anyone can easily see the results of its innovative technologies. This is very inspiring for sales and client facing professionals.”
What are you responsible for?
I’m responsible for the company’s go-to-market strategy, including business development, global partnerships and enterprise sales. Recently, I’ve also been planning and forecasting a budget for our next three years of growth, encompassing a US and European presence.
What is your favorite thing about working for Velou?
Velou is a young, vibrant company poised for substantial growth. The vision is clear and everyone is committed to client and company success. On the one hand, we’re building great products, processes, systems, and laying a strong foundation for growth. On the other hand, we’re hyper-focused on acquiring new customers and bringing success to our customers. There are many demands on time and resources, but that is also what makes it dynamic and exciting.
What do you like to do for fun?
I like a range of outdoor activities like fishing, cycling, running, martial arts, and cycling the roads of Northern California. One of my favorite activities is to go on a long bike ride along the coastal highway on an early Sunday morning. My average ride is around 45-50 miles and lasts 3-4 hours.
Which social media platform do you use the most?
I use LinkedIn for my professional life, and Instagram for my photography, which is one of my favorite hobbies. I’m not really focused on the number of followers, unlike my daughter who now has nearly 25,000!
What was the last fashion item you purchased online?
I tend to shop very practically online -- for things like food, home necessities, filters, and garden tools! So exciting, I know!
